Empowering Communities Through Universal Waterfront Access

We’ve highlighted key examples of how BoardSafe is making a difference. Our innovative waterfront solutions are designed to create lasting positive change, enhancing recreational opportunities, supporting economic vitality, & ensuring access for all abilities.

Chattahoochee Combination Dock This combination dock system showcases BoardSafe’s ability to engineer one-of-a-kind, long-lasting solutions for complex, specialized projects. We partnered with the Trust for Public Land (TPL) to create river access points along the unique terrain of the Chattahoochee River. What set this project apart was the complex slope of the riverbank and the potential for flooding and strong currents. We engineered and manufactured the 15,000 sq. ft. main dock as well as two 3,000 sq. ft. buildings located directly on the dock. The building houses the racing sculls and equipment on our custom manufactured aluminum racking system. Boston Tallship Gangway 245-foot tall ship, Caledonia has been repurposed as a floating restaurant on Boston Harbor. We engineered and installed a gangway to provide access for this unique water-access dining experience. Tidal changes between 9ft and 12ft had to be taken into consideration during the design process Learn more Scope: Custom pivoting aluminum gangway on railroad track, commercial foot traffic load capacity Mutual Riverfront Park Dual Kayak Launch Mutual Riverfront Park in Buffalo, New York, sits along the Buffalo River adjacent to historic Elevator Alley, one of the city's most recognized industrial landmarks. We connected a custom floating dock system directly to the existing seawall and installed two kayak launches to serve a wider range of users. One launch includes an adaptive boarding kit for inclusive access, while the second serves general paddlers, improving capacity and user flow. Learn more Scope: Custom floating dock system, dual kayak launch configuration, one adaptive launch with boarding kit Chester Frost Full Waterfront Buildout After storm damage to its existing facilities, we designed and installed a full waterfront improvement that replaced what was lost and raised the bar for recreation accessibility. The system includes an 80-ft. ADA-compliant gangway, two courtesy docks for boaters, and a 960-sq.-ft. covered accessible fishing pier. Together they make Chester Frost one of the few public parks in Tennessee to offer this level of combined boat access and fishing infrastructure in a single location.
