As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a talented SolidWorks Designer to support our in-house design and manufacturing teams at our Fleetwood, PA facility.
Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative SolidWorks Designer to join our design and engineering department. In this role, you will develop precise 3D models, production drawings, and renderings to support fabrication and installation of our custom aluminum dock systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
- Create detailed technical documentation including part files, cut lists, and shop instructions.
- Produce high-quality renderings and visuals for customer presentations and internal reviews.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback
- Revise and optimize existing designs for performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Assist in maintaining standard part libraries and design templates.
- Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve manufacturing challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, with experience creating complex assemblies.
- Understanding of manufacturing drawings.
- Familiarity with aluminum fabrication, welding, and marine-grade materials is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PDM systems.
- Prior exposure to architectural, marine, or structural fabrication industries.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a SolidWorks design or drafting role
